A dark mode for the cmake-gui Windows and Mac desktop applications would be greatly appreciated!

For reference, CMake Issue 19869 tracks this.

Any updates on this? All of the rest of my development environment is in dark mode, so opening CMake gui almost causes a heart attack due to brightness. Can this be prioritized please ?

The issue I linked above was closed with a nominal fix, but AFAIK it still doesn’t work in our official binaries.

This is now tracked in CMake Issue 24343.

FWIW, the official binaries support dark mode just fine for me on macOS. I can’t comment on other platforms, but it sounds like the lack of dark mode support is probably platform-dependent.

Thanks, unfortunately does not work on Linux. I am surprised this is not prioritized - as I mentioned every other dev tool I use, as well as browser, support dark mode. This would make the GUI more usable and developer friendly.
