I’m happy to rework the docs during this 3.19 release cycle to improve their clarity, but first I’d like to see discussion of some concerns I’ve just raised in [another post](https://discourse.cmake.org/t/inconsistent-behavior-of-cmake-path-subcommands-taking-a-variable-name-instead-of-a-string/2062) run its course.
