# Dependencies when using custom commands

The example in question was added by @brad.king in [MR 8002](https://gitlab.kitware.com/cmake/cmake/-/merge_requests/8002), which was done in response to [this forum discussion](https://discourse.cmake.org/t/add-custom-command-with-target-dependency-doesnt-rebuild/7029).
